McDonald’s Restaurant
McDonald’s the family restaurant has been in Ireland since 1977 – they’re one of the biggest purchasers of Irish produce, they employ 4000 people and in 81 locations across Ireland – but you know them for the great food they serve! They serve Ireland some of its favourite foods, including the World-Famous Fries®, the Big Mac® and the Quarter Pounder® among others. From the first drive-thru restaurant in Europe, to the first McCafé in Europe to their ongoing food innovation, McDonald’s has been at the forefront of serving their customers.
It’s been quite the journey, and they promise this is just the beginning-they have got our hearts set on making more history. For the past 10 years they have entered the Great Places to Work competition – and for the past 10 years they have been recognised as a great employer. For the past two years, McDonalds have finished in the top 7 companies – an enormous achievement for their business. At McDonald’s they recognise their responsibility to protect and preserve the environment for future generations. All their activities are centred around reducing our impact on the environment. Every day they serve over 150,000 customers in Ireland and their actions can be positive. Their goals are to minimise water and energy consumption, continuously increase recycling rates and work in our local communities to have a positive effect on the environment.
