Carlow Business Awards
The Carlow Business Awards are more than just an event – the are a recognition of excellence in business, and an opportunity to celebrate talent and achievement.
The awards run over the summer months – beginning with a launch event in May and culminating in the awards night, in September, when we celebrate our winners.
The awards are run by County Carlow Chamber, are sponsored by Carlow County Council and are open to any business in Carlow – not only Chamber members. There are currently 27 categories in all.
There are 23 categories that businesses can be nominated for – either by self-nomination or a nomination by a satisfied customer, client, friend or member of the public.
Applicants go through a process of assessment, shortlisting and final judging over the summer months before the finalists are announced 3-4 weeks in advance of the Awards night. This robust and transparent process ensures a healthy sense of competition – and adds to the excitement when the winners are announced on the awards night.
2026 Carlow Business Awards Information
The 2026 Awards nominations are now open – click here to nominate your business or a business you admire. Nominations take less than 2 minutes to complete!
Key Dates:
- Nominations are open from 8th May – 7th June 2026
- Step 1: Nominations are assessed and shortlisted businesses are invited to complete an online application form by the 12th July 2026
- Step 2: Applications are assessed and shortlisted businesses are invited to either present to the judges on the 1st of September, or agree to a mystery shopper audit during the month of August (depending on their category).
- 2nd week in September the finalists in each category are announced
- Thursday the 24th of September the winners are announced at an Awards Ceremony in VISUAL Carlow – please mark the date in your diary!

Tickets for the Awards night will go on sale on the Chamber website in September. Places are limited so finalists will have first option on tickets.
