We would like to invite you to join us at 11am on Thursday next 21st March 2024 in Delta Centre, R93 Y959 for “Creating Inclusive Employment” to mark World Down Syndrome Day.
The morning will be a networking coffee morning with a presentation from Joanne Dawson of Down Syndrome Ireland to give you some further insight into how as employers we can create further inclusive opportunities within our businesses. We will also hear from some of the local employers and employees wo are leading the way, living and supporting the change.
Whether you have vacancies/opportunities open at the moment or are just looking towards the future, then we would encourage you to join us to gain some further insight and hear of the benefits.
Down Syndrome Ireland Carlow are the Chamber Members for Charity partners for 2023/2024 and we are delighted to be working with them to support Inclusive Employment and World Down Syndrome Day.

Media Skills Masterclass with Gavin Duffy organised by County Carlow Chamber and Carlow Kilkenny Skillnet
A highly practical, intensive and interactive workshop where participants can dramatically improve their media performance. The workshop will be delivered by Gavin Duffy, regarded as Ireland’s foremost media skills coach. The all-in cost for the one-day workshop is €125 per person, which includes refreshments and a light working lunch for participants. The programme will cover;
• Coping with nerves – most people get a tad anxious before facing the media.
• Planning for your message
• Making your message relatable and memorable.
• How to handle interruptions and keep your message on track.
• Controlling the narrative of a media interview.
• Delivering a strong opening and a call to action close.
• The imperative to have great examples and case studies regarding your product or service.
All participants will be offered the opportunity of a live interview to practice their newly honed skills.
Media performance is a great way of getting your business, product or service in front of a wide audience. In this one-day programme, with limited attendance, you will gain insight on how the media works, and will participate in practice interviews to hone your personal skills, with recording, playback and assessment. In the digital age media has expanded far beyond your local radio and newspaper etc. but as video is the most potent tool in social media we all need to be more comfortable, confident and competent in front of a camera and/or microphone. This workshop covers all elements of media.
