Founded in 1977 by Rachel Doyle in her back garden in rural Co Carlow, Arboretum is today a modern family business that puts people at the centre of its success. With a love of plants and an ambition to create a unique customer experience, the Doyle family has, with the help of a dedicated team, grown the business from a small backyard garden centre to a world-class lifestyle experience in just over 40 years.

In addition to the 10-acre flagship store at Leighlinbridge, a stone’s throw from where Rachel started the business, there is Arboretum Kilquade at the National Garden Exhibition Centre. Both are destination garden centres with a team of qualified plant experts on hand. Fashion, pet, giftware and furniture complete the high-quality retail offering. Each has a Rachel’s Garden Café, which champions the best of local and Irish ingredients, inspirational gardens to enjoy, a children’s playground and ample free parking. Arboretum continues to grow and evolve with customers’ expectations and international standards. With sons Fergal (CCO) and Barry (CEO) at the helm, the business employs over 100 people who provide a level of expertise and customer service that creates a positive, welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
