Sidereus Ltd
Sidereus was founded in 2018. This company is headquartered at Kilgraney House and overlooks the Barrow Valley. The owners found inspiration for Sidereus watches in the surrounding landscapes, where the legacy of the past and the natural world combine. Brú na Bóinne, their inaugural collection of timepieces, is a celebration of the origins of horology and the marking of time in Ireland for over 5,000 years. It was at Brú na Bóinne that the earliest farming communities built vast stone structures, like Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, to record and mark the sidereal year.
Today, Sidereus continues the long tradition of marking time in every watch they design and build. Sidereus watches are bold, contemporary designs. The watches were designed, prototyped, and developed in-house. Components, like the watch cases, crowns, hands, dials and pin buckles, are proprietary pieces and unique to Sidereus watches. All watches are hand-built, regulated and tested by highly experienced watchmakers in Ireland, utilising modified Swiss Made automatic movements prepared by Sellita SA. Watches from the collection are limited to 50 pieces in each of the six model configurations. The Sidereus design philosophy is one of purity, simplicity and honesty. Due consideration and precision from the design process through to manufacture, hand-assembly, testing and dispatch is always paramount.
A small selection of watches are available on a prêt-à-porter basis, however, most watches are made-to-order and the limited edition number, if available, can be specified at time of order. Therefore ownership of a Sidereus watch requires conviction and a degree of patience too. Such fidelity has rewards, a timepiece that connects to the past and one that will be cherished in the future.
