This initiative aims to enrich our local streetscapes, fostering more vibrant and visually appealing spaces for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

Cllr. Ken Murnane, Cathaoirleach Carlow County Council said “Participating in the Streetscape Enhancement Scheme not only boosts the visual appeal of our properties but also contributes to the overall attractiveness of County Carlow. Adding to this Linda Culleton, Economic Development Officer at the Local Enterprise Office in Carlow County Council, stated, “A well-maintained and visually appealing streetscape fosters a sense of pride and belonging. The County Carlow – Streetscape Enhancement Scheme is a great way to bring the community together and make your town a more inviting place for residents and visitors alike.”
Speaking about the economic benefits of the scheme, Linda concluded, “A vibrant and well-maintained streetscape not only attracts visitors and customers; by enhancing the visual aesthetics of our streets, we create an inviting environment that fosters economic growth, encourages business investment, and contributes to the overall prosperity of our local economy.”
The scheme offers funding to support a variety of enhancements, including:
- Painting: Refresh your property with a new coat of paint.
- Repairs: Address any structural or cosmetic issues.
- Decluttering: Remove old wiring, unnecessary signage, or other unsightly elements.
- New Signage: Install attractive signage to modernize your property’s exterior.
- Outdoor Lighting: Enhance visibility and ambiance with quality exterior lighting.
- Window Display Design: Boost your storefront or residential windows with professional designs or merchandising.
