Shop Local Campaigns

At Carlow Chamber we believe that sourcing products and services locally, and shopping locally is key to the future growth and success of our county.

Research shows that for every €1 spent at least €2.50 stays in the local economy – which benefits us all.
We actively encourage members to ‘consider local first’ – in other words to see if the product or service that they need can be sourced locally.

We also collaborate with key stakeholders – including Carlow Local Enterprise Office and Carlow Tourism – in running the Shop Local Shop Carlow campaign which encourages the general public to shop local.

Love Carlow Gift Card

As part of the drive to encourage and support shopping local we have developed the Love Carlow Gift Card.

This card can be spent in a wide variety of retailers throughout the county – and this number is growing.

Benefits:

• For Businesses gifting the card – it offers you the opportunity to reward staff tax-free – no income tax, PRSI or USC.
• For Employees receiving the card – it is simple and easy to use, and welcome in a wide variety of retailers locally and some retailers nationwide.
• For Retailers selling and accepting the card – this encourages card spend to stay within the county, increasing potential sales and encouraging consumers to visit your store
• For the Local Economy – for every €1 spent locally on the card and estimated €2.50 stays within the local economy.
