Employment Growth reflects need to reallocate funding to Up-Skilling

money-2696219_640Chambers Ireland welcomes today’s (16 January 2018) CSO figures denoting continued employment growth of 2.2% in the Irish economy in the third quarter of 2017.

Director of Policy and Communications Sarah Freeman said,

“These figures are a further positive sign and with unemployment decreasing, it is crucial that Government continues to build on the economic recovery and reallocates some of the funding currently vested in job creation schemes towards adult education and up-skilling within the workplace.

 

“The ability of our workforce to take on the new challenges that Brexit will likely bring is seen as tantamount to our success. This necessitates training staff in exploring new export markets and engaging with additional administrative procedures.”
